Toad was still sleeping and snoring

" Well," said Rat," there are chores to do."

“嗯，”河鼠说，“还有活儿要干呢。”

Mole fed the horse and Rat got the dishes out

鼹鼠喂了马，河鼠拿出了盘子。

Together they collected firewood

他们一起捡了柴火。

Rat started a fire and Mole cooked breakfast

河鼠生了火，鼹鼠做早饭。

Finally the smell of coffee woke Toad

最后，咖啡的香味儿把蟾蜍弄醒了。

" Ah," said Toad, stretching

“啊，”蟾蜍伸着懒腰说。

" Isn't it great?

There are no chores to do on the road!"

" That's true for people who sleep too late," grumbled Rat

“对睡懒觉的人来说是这样，”水鼠咕哝道。

But Toad didn't hear him

He was too busy eating

他正忙着吃呢。

" I'm ready. Let's go!" cried Toad after breakfast

Mole and Rat got into the cart

鼹鼠和水鼠上了马车。

Toad tied the horse to the cart, and they started off

The dusty road led through a meadow

A cloud of dust was coming up fast

A blast of wind zoomed past

" Ahh!" they screamed

The cart tipped and fell over into a ditch

马车倾斜，翻倒进了沟里。

The dust cleared

尘土散去。

Ahead, a big, beautiful car raced down the road!
