" Yeah," Mog said." It's like a scavenger hunt

" It's going to be us!" Gaby said, grinning

Ben held up his hands." No problem."

" Who are you going to help first, Ben?" Winnie asked

" I'll decide after I finish my lunch," Ben said quickly

" We have study hall after lunch," Gaby said to Mog

" Let's go to the library now and get started

Finally he decided he wasn't hungry anymore, so he picked up his tray

As he headed toward the garbage can, a blob waved to him

" Hey, Ben, are you going to eat those toad toes? I'm really hungry today."

“嘿，本，你还吃那些蟾蜍脚趾吗？我今天真的好饿。”

" Nope. You can have them," Ben said

“不吃了。给你吧。”本说。

" Just return my tray to the kitchen when you're done, okay?"

“只是你吃完后，帮我把餐盘送回厨房，好吗？”

" Don't worry about that," the blob said." I'll eat the tray too!"

“别担心那个，”软泥怪说，“我会连餐盘也一起吃掉！”

" Great," Ben said. But he didn't feel great

“太好了。”本说。但他一点儿也高兴不起来。

If only Gaby and Waldo hadn't made this stupid bet!

A few minutes later, Ben floated through the door of the science lab

几分钟后，本飘进了科学实验室的门。

" How's it going in here?" he said

Winnie looked up and smiled

She was stirring a potion in a big cauldron as Waldo handed her some ingredients

她正在一口大锅里搅拌魔药，沃尔多则在一旁递配料给她。

The liquid inside the pot glowed green as Winnie mixed it

维尼搅拌时，锅里的液体发出绿色的光。

" We're brewing a location spell," she said

“我们在熬制一个定位咒，”她说。

" Can I help?" Ben asked

“我能帮忙吗？”本问道。

" Sure." Winnie gestured toward some supplies on a high shelf

“当然。”维尼朝高处架子上的材料做了个手势。

" Can you hand Waldo that big sack of lizard scales?"

“你能把那大袋蜥蜴鳞片递给沃尔多吗？”

" The green ones or the gold ones?" Ben asked

“绿色的还是金色的？”本问。

" Gold," Waldo said." As in gold treasure."

“金色的，”沃尔多说，“就像黄金宝藏那样的金色。”

" Got it." Ben had to use both hands to get the heavy sack off the shelf

“明白了。”本不得不用双手才把那沉重的袋子从架子上搬下来。

He lowered it and then handed the sack to Waldo

他把袋子放低，然后递给了沃尔多。

" Ah-choo!" Waldo sneezed

“啊——嚏！”沃尔多打了个喷嚏。

Ben and Winnie immediately braced themselves, but this time nothing happened

本和维尼立刻做好防备，但这次什么也没发生。

Waldo grinned." I think my cold is finally getting better!"

沃尔多咧嘴笑了。“我觉得我的感冒终于快好了！”

He tipped the sack and started to pour the lizard scales into the cauldron

他倾斜袋子，开始往锅里倒蜥蜴鳞片。

Suddenly Winnie yelped

维尼突然尖叫了一声。

" Wait! Waldo! Ben gave you the green scales!"

“等等！沃尔多！本给你的是绿色的鳞片！”

She groaned." Oh no. Now we'll have to start all over again."

她呻吟道。“哦不。现在我们得全部重来了。”

" But..." Ben shook his head in confusion as he stared at the sack

“可是……”本困惑地摇着头，盯着那个袋子。

He was sure he'd given Waldo the right ingredient

他确定自己给了沃尔多正确的配料。

" I know I grabbed the gold — "

“我知道我拿的是金色——”

Winnie cut him off with a smile

维尼微笑着打断了他。

" On second thought, we're good," she said

“转念一想，我们没事，”她说。

" We don't really need any help

“我们其实不需要帮忙。

Like my mom says, too many witches spoil the potion

就像我妈妈说的，女巫多了，药水就乱。

Why don't you go see how Gaby and Mog are doing?"

Ben blinked at her

本朝她眨了眨眼。

He couldn't tell if she was trying to get rid of him or trying to be fair

他分不清她是在赶他走，还是在表现公平。

" Okay," he said with a shrug

"好吧，"他耸耸肩说。

" See you later. Call if you need me."

As he left, he noticed that the bag of green scales was still on the shelf

离开时，他注意到那袋绿色的鳞片还在架子上。

" I did get the right bag!" Ben thought

"我拿的袋子是对的！"本想。

" Waldo's sneeze must have changed the gold scales to green."

"肯定是沃尔多的喷嚏把金色鳞片变成了绿色。"

Ben felt annoyed. He'd tried to help Winnie, but Waldo had messed it up

本感到挺恼火的。他本来想帮维尼，结果被沃尔多搞砸了。

When Ben got to the school library, Gaby and Mog were already rushing out

当本赶到学校图书馆时，加比和莫格已经急匆匆地跑了出来。

They were both grinning

他们俩都咧着嘴笑。

" You two look happy," Ben said

"你们俩看起来很高兴啊，"本说。

" Did you find the treasure already?"

"你们已经找到宝藏了？"

" Nope," Mog said." But Gaby thought of a really good clue."

"没呢，"莫格说。"但加比想到了一个非常好的线索。"

" I remembered that Pedro mentioned a painting," Gaby told Ben

"我记得佩德罗提到过一幅画，"加比告诉本。

" He said an artist painted him before he buried the treasure."

"他说在他埋藏宝藏之前，有位画家给他画了像。"

" Right." Ben nodded

"对。"本点点头。

旁白 neutral

" So that painting could hold a clue to finding the treasure!" Gaby said

"所以那幅画里可能藏着找到宝藏的线索！"加比说。

" We looked up information about pirate art," said Mog

"我们查了关于海盗艺术品的资料，"莫格说。

" And we found out where that painting is."

"而且我们查到了那幅画在哪里。"

" Where?" Ben asked

"在哪？"本问。

" At the Monsterville Historical Society," Gaby said

"在怪兽镇历史学会，"加比说。

" They've got some pirate artifacts there."

"那里有一些海盗的文物。"

" We're going there after school," Mog added

"我们放学后打算去那里，"莫格补充道。

" You can come with us if you want."

"你想的话可以跟我们一起去。"

" Okay... maybe," Ben said

"好的……也许吧，"本说。

" If I'm not busy helping Winnie and Waldo."
