" Of course I buried it!" Pedro said

Pedro scratched his head

" Why didn't you do that?"

" I did make a map," Pedro replied." But — "

" Ah-choo!" Waldo sneezed loudly, spewing large green bugs into the air

Winnie swatted a few bugs away from her hair

温妮挥手赶走了头发旁的几只虫子。

" Do you still have the map, Pedro?" she asked

“那份地图还在吗，佩德罗？”她问道。

" I think somebody stole it!" another monster blurted out

“我觉得是被人偷走了！”另一个怪物脱口而出。

" I don't have the map anymore." Pedro shook his head sadly

“地图早就不在我这里了。”佩德罗难过地摇了摇头。

" I buried my treasure that day and then I went back to sea

“那天我埋好财宝，就回到了海上。

But our crew soon got into a big battle with another ship

但我们的船员很快就和另一艘船大打出手。

Our pirate ship caught fire and..." Pedro gulped

我们的海盗船着了火，然后……”佩德罗哽咽了。

" The treasure map burned. I tried to save it, but..."

“藏宝图被烧了。我拼命想救它，可是……”

Tears streamed down his face." It was no use."

泪水顺着他的脸流下来。“一点用都没有。”

" Have you tried looking for the treasure in Monsterville?" Mog asked

“那你试过在怪物镇找过财宝吗？”莫格问。

Pedro nodded. Mr. Freaky handed him a handkerchief, and the pirate wiped away his tears

" Yes. When I got out of jail, I searched for the treasure for several years

“是的。从监狱出来后，我花了好几年的时间找财宝。

But it was hopeless." He shook his head

" It was the best loot my merry band and I ever got

Mog gulped." That's the saddest thing I ever heard!"

" Maybe I shouldn't have buried the treasure, but I wanted to keep it safe," the pirate went on

Mr. Bog started mopping up puddles on the stage again

Mr. Freaky eyed the wet stage nervously

" Er, today's Career Day assembly is over, students

All around Ben, monsters started clapping

He waved and then bounded off the wet stage

" No, it's not," Ben said, looking at the puddles

" If we had all that loot, we'd all be rich — as rich as kings

Winnie suddenly halted

" That's it!" she said, snapping her fingers

Ben looked at her." What do you mean, Winnie?"

Winnie's eyes were glowing

" Pedro said his treasure is lost somewhere in Monsterville," she said

" But it doesn't have to stay lost. Let's try to find it!"
