" I'll be right back," said Wukong

“我马上回来，”悟空说。

" I'll ask that man what sort of danger is up ahead."

The monkey walked toward the man

猴子朝那个人走去。

Looking closely, Wukong could tell that he was not an ordinary man

" Hello, Venus," said Wukong with a smile

“你好，太白金星，”悟空笑着说。

The man smiled back

" Yes, it's me, the spirit of the planet Venus."

" I came in disguise to warn you, Wukong."

" There are three powerful demons on the mountain up ahead."

" You should be worried."

" The three demons command a demon army."

Wukong rubbed his chin

" Is there danger up ahead?"

" Are there demons?" asked the Tang Monk, still scared

" Actually, yes," said Wukong

“确实有，”悟空说。

" There's an army of demons."

“有一支妖魔大军。”

" But I'm not worried."

“但我不担心。”

The Tang Monk's jaw dropped

唐僧惊得下巴都掉了。

" How can you not be worried?"

“你怎么能不担心呢？”

Wukong laughed

悟空笑了。

" Master, have you forgotten?"

“师父，您忘了吗？”

" I once defeated Heaven's entire army."

“我曾经打败了天庭的全部兵马。”

" Yes, we all know about that, Wukong."

“是的，我们都知道那件事，悟空。”

" But this is different."

" The Tang Monk is with us."

" We must keep him safe."

Baje nodded

Wukong sighed

" We can't let the demons harm Master."

He gave a sideways glance at Baje and smirked

Baje snorted

八戒哼了一声。

" You all wait here," said Wukong

“你们都在这等着，”悟空说。

" I'll check out the mountain to see how big the demon army is."

“我去山上看看妖魔大军有多大规模。”

The monkey flew to the mountain

猴子飞到了山上。

Several demons were talking in front of a cave

几个妖怪正在洞口前说话。

They were dressed like military officers

他们穿着军官的打扮。

Wukong spied on them from behind a rock

悟空躲在一块石头后面偷听。

" The Tang Monk will be coming over our mountain soon," said a demon general

“唐僧很快就要经过我们的山了，”一个妖将说。

" Our leaders want all the troops to watch for him."

“首领们要所有部队注意他。”

旁白 neutral

" I hope we catch the Tang Monk."

“我希望我们能抓到唐僧。”

The other officers nodded and smiled

其他军官点头微笑。

" That was very kind of our leaders," said a captain

“首领们真是太好了，”一个队长说。

" We must be careful, though," warned the general

“不过我们得小心，”将军警告说。

旁白 neutral

" Why?" asked a colonel

“为什么？”一个校官问。

旁白 neutral

" The monk is just a man. He can't possibly stop us."

“那和尚不过是个凡人，他不可能拦住我们。”

" I've heard that the Tang Monk isn't alone," said the general

“我听说唐僧不是一个人，”将军说。

" Sun Wukong is with him."

“孙悟空跟他在一起。”

Everyone grew quiet

所有人都安静了下来。

" He's the spirit who defeated Heaven's entire army," whispered a captain

“他就是那个打败了天庭全部兵马的神仙，”一个队长低声说。

Another captain nodded

另一个队长点了点头。

" He is quite powerful."

“他非常厉害。”

Wukong beamed proudly when he heard that

悟空听到这话得意地笑了。

" Don't worry about Sun Wukong," said the general

“不用担心孙悟空，”将军说。

" Just tell the troops to watch for the Tang Monk."

“只管让部队注意唐僧就行。”

" Yes, general," said the colonel

“是，将军，”校官说。

旁白 neutral

" I have an idea," thought Wukong

“我有个主意，”悟空心想。

The monkey made himself look like a demon general

猴子把自己变成了一个妖将的模样。

Then he stepped out from behind the rock and hurried over to the officers

然后他从石头后面走出来，快步走向那些军官。

" I have good news!" shouted Wukong

“我有好消息！”悟空大喊。

旁白 neutral

" The Tang Monk is heading toward our mountain."

“唐僧正朝我们的山走来。”
