Heidi reached the field of flowers and uttered a cry of joy

The whole ground in front of Heidi was filled with gold and yellow blossoms

Oh, if only I could walk!" said Clara

Suddenly, Heidi had an idea

" Peter, Peter, come down here!" she yelled

Heidi ran up to where Peter sat and said

Heidi had no idea what she might do, but she was angry at Peter's stubbornness

Clara still kept hold of Heidi and Peter, but with each step they could feel her getting steadier on her feet

They didn't have far to go to reach the field of flowers

When they all sat down among the flowers of gold and blue, Heidi felt so glad at heart that she wanted to shout for joy

Grandfather said to Clara when he reached her

He helped her up and made her walk a few steps, putting one arm around her waist

Heidi skipped joyfully beside them, and the old man looked as though a great happiness had come to him

You can try again tomorrow," he said

He then lifted her up onto his back, and off they went, down the mountainside
