" Get Dr. Dolittle! Hurry!" Polynesia whispered to Gub-Gub

When the doctor came, Polynesia told him about the prince

Dr. Dolittle looked in his medicine bag

" Ask him to let you out," the parrot continued

" We could ask the prince for a boat!"

Jip barked excitedly

" Good idea, Jip!" smiled Dr. Dolittle

The prince waited until dark

王子等到天黑。

Then he went to the dungeon just as the fairy godmother had said

然后他按照仙女教母的话去了地牢。

" Dolittle! Dr. Dolittle!" he called softly

“杜立德！杜立德医生！”他轻声喊道。

" My fairy godmother said you have a magic bottle

“我的仙女教母说你有一个魔法瓶子。

May I have it?"

可以给我吗？”

Dr. Dolittle scratched his head

杜立德医生挠了挠头。

" Well, yes, of course you may

“嗯，是的，当然可以。

But first you must let me out of this dungeon."

“但首先你得把我放出这地牢。”

Jip reminded the doctor about the boat

吉普提醒医生别忘了船的事。

" Oh, and also, you must find me a boat...," Dr. Dolittle continued

“哦，还有，你得给我找一条船……”杜立德医生继续说。

Gub-Gub wanted to ask for one more thing

嘎卜嘎卜还想再要一样东西。

"... with lots of food in it," the doctor added

The prince quietly unlocked the dungeon

王子悄悄打开了地牢。

" Get me a boat

“给我一条船。

I will meet you on the beach," the doctor said

我在海滩上等你。”医生说。

" What will you give him, Doctor?" asked Jip

“医生，您要给他什么呢？”吉普问。

The doctor took out a black bottle

医生拿出了一个黑色瓶子。

" What is it for?" asked Dab-Dab

“这是做什么用的？”达达问。

" This medicine makes the hair grow quickly," explained the doctor

“这种药能让头发快速生长。”医生解释道。

" That's what the prince wants," said Dab-Dab

“这正是王子想要的。”达达说。

" But it's not... human hair," the doctor looked away

“但这长出来的不是……人的头发。”医生移开了视线。

" What kind of hair is it?" asked Dab-Dab

“那是什么毛发？”达达问。

" It's dog hair."

“是狗毛。”

旁白 neutral

The prince was waiting for Dr. Dolittle beside a boat

王子正在一艘小船边等着杜立德医生。

" Now give me my magic bottle!" he said excitedly

“快把我的魔法瓶给我！”他兴奋地说。

The prince jumped up and down like a boy

王子像个小男孩一样上蹿下跳。

旁白 neutral

Dr. Dolittle rubbed the lotion on the prince's head

杜立德医生把药水擦在王子的头上。

" Is it growing?" the prince asked excitedly

“在长吗？”王子兴奋地问。

旁白 neutral

Dr. Dolittle rubbed more and more

杜立德医生越揉越起劲。

旁白 neutral

Then he poured the whole bottle onto the prince's head

然后他把整瓶药水倒在了王子头上。

Just like grass, one, then two, then ten hairs started popping up

就像草一样，一根、两根，然后十根头发开始冒出来。

The prince was growing hair

王子在长头发了。

旁白 neutral

" I have hair!

“我有头发了！

I have hair!" the prince shouted joyfully

我有头发了！”王子高兴地喊道。

He was beginning to look like Jip!

他开始看起来像吉普了！

But he didn't have a mirror to see himself

但他没有镜子看见自己的样子。

The prince ran off into the jungle, singing and dancing

王子又唱又跳地跑进了丛林。

" Jip! You and the prince could be brothers!" teased Chee-Chee

“吉普！你和王子可以当兄弟了！”奇奇取笑道。

" Poor prince," Too-Too said

“可怜的王子，”图图说。

旁白 neutral

" Don't worry. In two weeks, it will all fall out again

“别担心。两周后，这些头发都会掉光。

I will send him the proper medicine when I get home," Dr. Dolittle replied

我回家后会给他寄真正的药，”杜立德医生回答。

" Hurry and go before the prince comes back!" Polynesia said

“快走，趁王子还没回来！”波利尼西亚说。

Everyone got in the boat except Polynesia and Chee-Chee

除了波利尼西亚和奇奇，大家都上了船。

" Aren't you coming?" asked Jip

“你们不来吗？”吉普问。

" Africa is our home," Polynesia said sadly

“非洲是我们的家，”波利尼西亚难过地说。

" We want to stay here," Chee-Chee added

“我们想留在这里，”奇奇补充道。

旁白 neutral

Dr. Dolittle nodded

杜立德医生点了点头。

旁白 neutral

" I understand. I will miss you both very much."

“我理解。我会非常想念你们两个的。”

The parrot and monkey hugged Dr. Dolittle

鹦鹉和猴子拥抱了杜立德医生。

They waved good-bye to their friends

" Good-bye, Dr. Dolittle!" cried Polynesia and Chee-Chee

And the boat left Africa
