" Mom, can I have a slumber party?" she asked her mother one evening

“妈妈，我能办个睡衣派对吗？”一天晚上她问妈妈。

" A slumber party? You mean invite some friends to sleep over at our house?" Mother said

“睡衣派对？你是说邀请一些朋友来我们家过夜？”妈妈说。

" Yes. May I? Please?" Jin pleaded with her mom

“是的。可以吗？求你了？”金恳求妈妈。

The next day at school, Jin invited three of her friends to her slumber party

" When is it?" Rachel asked

" This Saturday. Come around four o'clock," Jin said

On the day of the slumber party, Jin was busy cleaning her room when her brother Min opened the door

" What happened?" the girls cried out. Jin looked around

There, behind the couch, was Min holding the remote control

" Min, you promised not to bother your sister and her friends," Father reminded him sternly

" Don't even go near Jin's room! Do you understand?" Mother said

She took some pizza from the kitchen, and the girls all went up to her room to eat it

After they ate the pizza, the four friends decided to have some fun

" Let me do your hair!" Rachel said

In no time at all, all the girls had fancy hairstyles and glamorous makeup

Suddenly the girls all stopped and looked at each other

After Jin's parents closed the door to the room, Fran turned to the others

Rachel, Mandy, and Jin stared at her

" Fran! We're going to stay up all night!" Mandy said

" But we already did everything," Fran complained

" We still haven't done the most exciting part of a slumber party." Rachel smiled

" Ghost stories!" everyone screamed

“讲鬼故事！”大家尖叫起来。

Jin went first. She told them a scary story about a woman who was murdered by her husband

" People say they can still see her ghost searching for her husband."

" Let's take a break and have some cake," Jin suggested

They all went down to the kitchen in the dark

" Don't turn the lights on," Jin whispered

“别开灯。”金小声说。

" Ouch! I can't see anything," complained Mandy

“哎呦！我什么都看不见。”曼迪抱怨道。

" Shh! You'll wake everyone up!" Rachel covered Mandy's mouth

“嘘！你会把大家都吵醒的！”雷切尔捂住曼迪的嘴。

" I got the cake," Jin said quietly after they reached the kitchen

她们到厨房后，金轻声说：“我拿到蛋糕了。”

The girls tiptoed quietly back toward Jin's room

" What was that?" whispered Rachel

" It's not me!" Mandy said

They saw a strange shadow approaching

" Oh... oh... l-look!" Fran pointed

" It's him! He's here!" Rachel's voice quivered

The girls screamed as loud as they could, and Jin threw the cake in the air

When they heard the noise, Jin's parents came running

" What's going on here?" shouted Jin's father

The four friends were crying and holding onto each other

The girls stopped crying and opened their eyes

" But we all saw him," Mandy wiped some cream from the cake away from her eyes

The friends looked puzzled

Suddenly there was a sound from behind the door. It was Min

突然，门后传来声音。是敏。

" Is this who you saw?" smiled Jin's mother

“你们看到的是这个吗？”金的母亲笑着说。

" Min!" screamed the girls

“敏！”女孩们尖叫起来。

" This time it wasn't your brother's fault," Father said

“这次不是你们弟弟的错。”父亲说。

Min had woken up and was thirsty

敏醒了，觉得口渴。

He had gone to the kitchen to get a glass of water

他去厨房拿了杯水。

" I hope you learned a lesson," Mother said

“希望你们能吸取教训。”母亲说。

The girls giggled and soon everyone was laughing

女孩们咯咯笑起来，很快大家都笑了。

" Thank you for everything," Jin said to her parents the next evening

“谢谢你们所做的一切。”第二天晚上金对父母说。

" Did everyone have a good time?" asked Mother

“大家玩得开心吗？”母亲问。

" Oh yes! It was the best slumber party ever!" Jin smiled at everyone

“哦，是的！这是最棒的一次睡衣派对！”金对大家笑着说。

" Good. Next week we're having another one!" Mother said

“很好。下周我们再办一次！”母亲说。

" This time it's Min's turn."
