jumped into the vortex."

Tears filled her eyes." I thought I'd never see it again."

" The time vortex?" Darb glanced up from scratching

Zing's head and noticed Mellis.

her eyes wide with wonder.

Perda remembered how Mellis had swept Zira and her

goons away with one word.

" It's okay," she told Zann." I think Mellis can handle it."

" I think I can too." Mellis' voice was quiet but assured

will work to open the wormhole instead."

" I've been thinking about that cup," Perda told him

with them, leaving Perda and Zann alone.

" I guess we should go too." Zann looked wistful

She knew that Zann would miss her most of all, just as she

always missed him when they were apart.

and suddenly had an idea.

" Sure, Zann and I are both perfectly capable of zapping

on our own," she thought with a smile.

" But that doesn't mean we can't zap together once in a while."

She grabbed his hand and squeezed it

His eyes went wide, and his cheeks turned pink
