Perda rubbed her hands together and thought about doing a Uniting spell

and she couldn't focus on what she was trying to do.

It was amazing to think that she and Zann were living through

some of the Magica history she found so fascinating.

" Hardly anyone in Magica knows what the world was like this

far in the past," she thought.

" Now Zann and I will be able to tell them." She gulped, realizing something

" Now that Vilkor knows Mellis isn't on his side, he's probably

doing the zapping himself.

He's not as strong as she is, so he'll have to rest too."

She flopped onto the ground, still thinking about

everything she'd just figured out.

Mentioning Mellis made her think again about how powerful

their new friend's magic was.

experienced Magic Master like Zann's grandfather, Boz.

" It all makes sense now," Perda said thoughtfully

magic, then it's no wonder she's got super strong magic energy.

concentrated, right?" he said.

" I get it. That's probably why she fainted at first

and compare it to our own time."

" Yeah, I was thinking about that while we zapped," Zann said

Perda nodded. They had visited those mines

a couple of times on school trips.

Old Times, they'd been important for different kinds of magic.

" Let's zap again," she said." I don't want to let Vilkor

get a head start. Are you rested enough?"

" Are you sure you don't want to zap us this time?

We've already landed in the water once."

" It's okay — you do it." Perda still felt distracted by

all the thoughts running through her head.

The next zap brought them to a flat area with

only a few trees and shrubs.

There was no water around, either, so their shoes

stayed dry this time.

However, Zann accidentally landed them in a prickly bush

with landmarks in our own time,"

Perda said as she healed the scratches from the thorns

" You're probably right," Zann agreed, flopping down on the grass to rest

Last time we saw her, she tried to take me prisoner!"

Perda realized he was right." We'll have to be careful." She smiled

Zann laughed sheepishly." Okay. Come here, Zing. Let's go!"

Perda grabbed Zann's arm, and then waited for him to catch Zing

on where she wanted to go.

" I'll aim for the farmhouse," she said

probably won't be anyone at the farm."

She took a deep breath." Zap!"

When they landed, the first thing Perda saw was

the farmhouse right beside them,

which made her glad they'd landed where she'd wanted to land

" Gorzogs!" Zann shouted, yanking Perda aside just as

one of the fearsome creatures leaped at her.
