He covered the pirate's mouth to muffle his dying moan

The boys watched as Peter threw the pirate overboard

There was a loud splash, followed by silence

Then Peter vanished into the cabin

The pirates had heard a big splash, and then the tick-tocking had stopped

All they could hear now was the sound of their breathing

" It's gone, Captain," Smee said, wiping his spectacles." All is still again."

" The cabin! Peter's in there!" thought the children, as they looked at each other

" Ay, ay," said Bill Jukes, cheerfully opening the cabin door

As soon as the door closed behind him, a terrible scream was heard from inside

The boys knew the sound, but the pirates looked puzzled

Cecco thought for a moment, and then ran into the cabin. Shocked, he stumbled out

" What's the matter?" Hook yelled

" Juke's been stabbed to death," cried Cecco

" The cabin is dark, and there is some terrible thing in there. It's... crowing."

" No, no! I can't do that!" Cecco said, desperately

Hook lifted his iron claw." Are you disobeying me?" he yelled

Trembling, Cecco followed Hook's order and went slowly into the cabin

吓得浑身发抖，塞科遵从了胡克的命令，慢慢地走进了船舱。

Again, they all heard a deadly scream followed by a crowing sound

他们再次听到一声致命的尖叫，接着是一阵打鸣声。

" Number three!" Slightly called out

“第三个！”斯莱特利叫了出来。

Hook yelled at his crew." Who will get this crowing thing?"

胡克对他手下喊道。“谁去抓住这个会打鸣的东西？”

" Wait until Cecco comes out," cried Starkey

“等塞科出来再说，”斯塔基喊道。

The other pirates agreed." Yes, let's wait!"

其他海盗也同意了。“对，我们等等！”

" Did I hear you volunteer, Starkey?" said Hook

“斯塔基，我好像听到你自告奋勇了？”胡克说。

" No, by thunder!" growled Starkey." I'll hang before I go in there."

“不，绝对没有！”斯塔基咆哮道。“我死也不进那里去。”

" Is this mutiny?" asked Hook, lifting his claw

“这是要造反吗？”胡克问道，同时举起了他的铁爪。

" Captain, please, have mercy!" the fearful pirate begged

“船长，求您了，发发慈悲吧！”这个惊恐的海盗哀求道。

Starkey backed away, and Hook strode toward him, his hook ready to strike

Starkey looked around for help, but all the other pirates were looking down at their feet

With a hopeless scream, Starkey leapt off the ship and into the sea
