" I challenge you to a meditation contest," said the Tiger Immortal

“我要和你比打坐，”虎仙说。

" Whoever can meditate the longest without moving is the winner."

“谁能坐得最久不动，谁就赢。”

" I used to meditate a lot," he thought

“我以前经常打坐，”他心想。

旁白 neutral

" But I haven't done it lately."

“但最近很久没练了。”

旁白 neutral

" I'm terrible at sitting still."

“我最不擅长安静坐着了。”

旁白 neutral

The Tang Monk stepped forward

唐僧走上前来。

" I accept your challenge."

“我接受你的挑战。”

旁白 neutral

" Master, are you sure?" asked Wujing

“师父，你确定吗？”沙僧问道。

旁白 neutral

The Tang Monk nodded

唐僧点了点头。

旁白 neutral

" I've spent many years meditating."

“我修行打坐多年。”

旁白 neutral

" This contest will be easy for me."

“这场比赛对我来说很容易。”

The Tiger Immortal grinned

虎仙咧嘴一笑。

旁白 neutral

" This won't be an ordinary meditation contest."

“这可不是普通的打坐比赛。”

旁白 neutral

" We will float in the air and meditate."

“我们要悬浮在空中打坐。”

旁白 neutral

" Can you do that?"

“你能做到吗？”

旁白 neutral

Now the Tang Monk looked nervous

这下唐僧紧张了。

But before the monk could answer, Wukong clapped him on the back

但在唐僧开口之前，悟空拍了拍他的背。

" Of course the Tang Monk can float in the air," the monkey replied

“唐僧当然能悬浮在空中，”猴子回答道。

Then he whispered into the monk's ear

然后他凑到唐僧耳边低语。

" Don't worry, Master."

“别担心，师父。”

旁白 neutral

" You just meditate."

“你只管打坐就行。”

旁白 neutral

" I'll handle everything else."

“其他的交给我。”

旁白 neutral

" What are you babbling about?" snapped the Tiger Immortal

“你们在嘀嘀咕咕什么？”虎仙厉声道。

" Let's start the contest."

“开始比赛吧。”

旁白 neutral

The Tiger Immortal and the Tang Monk went in front of the crowd

虎仙和唐僧走到人群前面。

They sat down with their legs crossed and their palms facing up

他们盘腿坐下，手掌朝上。

They closed their eyes and started meditating

他们闭上眼睛，开始打坐。

After a moment, the Tiger Immortal slowly floated up into the air

过了一会儿，虎仙慢慢地浮到了空中。

" Master can't do that."

“师父做不到啊。”

旁白 neutral

" He'll lose the contest."

“他会输的。”

旁白 neutral

" Don't worry," said Wukong

“别担心，”悟空说。

旁白 neutral

" He just needs some help from me."

“他只是需要我帮帮忙。”

旁白 neutral

The monkey recited a spell and then blew toward the Tang Monk

猴子念了个咒语，然后朝唐僧吹了一口气。

The monk lifted off the ground

唐僧离地升了起来。

旁白 neutral

His eyes remained closed

他的眼睛一直闭着。

Soon he was floating next to the Tiger Immortal

很快他就浮到了虎仙旁边。

" I think Master will win this contest," said Wujing

“我觉得师父会赢这场比赛，”沙僧说。

旁白 neutral

" I'm pretty good at meditating, too," said Bajie

“我打坐也挺厉害的，”八戒说。

旁白 neutral

" I could have competed in this contest."

“我也可以参加这场比赛的。”

旁白 neutral

Wukong smirked

悟空坏笑。

旁白 neutral

" It would take a lot of magic to lift you, Bajie."

“要把你举起来可得费不少法力，八戒。”

旁白 neutral

The pig snorted

猪哼了一声。

旁白 neutral

" Master's face is twitching," said Wujing suddenly

“师父的脸在抽搐，”沙僧突然说。

旁白 neutral

" I wonder what's wrong."

“不知道怎么回事。”

旁白 neutral

" Maybe he has a headache," said Wujing

“也许他头疼，”沙僧说。

旁白 neutral

" This isn't good."

“这可不妙。”

旁白 neutral

" If the monk moves at all, he will lose the contest."

“如果唐僧动了，他就输了。”

旁白 neutral

Wukong looked up at the Tang Monk

悟空抬头看着唐僧。

旁白 neutral

" I think he has an itch," said the monkey

“我觉得他身上痒，”猴子说。

旁白 neutral

" Wait here."

“你们在这等着。”

旁白 neutral

Wukong became invisible and flew up to the monk

悟空隐身飞到了唐僧身边。

旁白 neutral

A flea was crawling on the monk's head

一只跳蚤正在唐僧头上爬。

旁白 neutral

" Hmm," thought Wukong

“嗯，”悟空心想。

旁白 neutral

" Why would a flea be on the Tang Monk?"

“怎么会有跳蚤在唐僧头上？”

旁白 neutral

" He has no hair."

“他又没有头发。”

旁白 neutral

The monkey bit his lip

猴子咬了咬嘴唇。

旁白 neutral

" The Tiger Immortal must have used magic to put this flea here."

“一定是虎仙用法术放的跳蚤。”

旁白 neutral

" That rotten cheater."

“这个卑鄙的骗子。”

旁白 neutral

Wukong brushed the flea away and scratched the Tang Monk's head

悟空把跳蚤拨走，给唐僧挠了挠头。

The monk's face stopped twitching

唐僧的脸不再抽搐了。

旁白 neutral

" Now I'll teach the Tiger Immortal a lesson," thought Wukong

“现在我要给虎仙一个教训，”悟空心想。

The monkey plucked one of his hairs and turned it into a centipede

猴子拔了一根毫毛，变成了一条蜈蚣。

旁白 neutral

He dropped the centipede onto the Tiger Immortal's head

他把蜈蚣丢到了虎仙的头上。

旁白 neutral

The Tiger Immortal's ear twitched as the centipede crawled over it

蜈蚣爬过虎仙的耳朵时，他的耳朵抽动了一下。

旁白 neutral

Then the centipede crawled along his mouth

然后蜈蚣爬到了他的嘴边。

旁白 neutral

The Tiger Immortal's lip curled slightly

虎仙的嘴唇微微抽动。

旁白 neutral

His nose wrinkled

他的鼻子皱了起来。

旁白 neutral

Next, the centipede crawled on the Tiger Immortal's nose

接着，蜈蚣爬到了虎仙的鼻子上。

The Tiger Immortal sniffed

虎仙抽了抽鼻子。

旁白 neutral

And then...

然后……

" Ouch!" cried the Tiger Immortal

“哎哟！”虎仙叫道。

旁白 neutral

" Something bit me!"

“什么东西咬了我！”

旁白 neutral

He lost his concentration and fell, hitting the ground with a puff of smoke

他失去了注意力，摔了下来，落地时腾起一阵烟雾。

When the smoke cleared, a dead tiger lay on the ground

烟雾散去后，地上躺着一只死老虎。

The crowd gasped

人群倒吸一口凉气。

Wukong and the Tang Monk came back down

悟空和唐僧回到了地面。

The crowd was silent

人群鸦雀无声。

Taoists and Buddhists all stared at one another

道士和佛教徒面面相觑。

The monkey cleared his throat

猴子清了清嗓子。

旁白 neutral

" The Tiger Immortal was just an evil tiger spirit."

“虎仙不过是一只邪恶的虎妖。”

旁白 neutral

" Now that he's gone, I want you Taoists to treat the Buddhists kindly."

“既然他已经不在了，我希望你们道士能善待佛教徒。”

旁白 neutral

" Everybody should live together peacefully."

“大家应该和平共处。”
