Soon I found myself in a cornfield where the plants towered over me

Terrified, I hid in the corn and hoped that he would not notice me

He shouted something with a voice like thunder

Seven more giants joined him

He seemed to be a farmer, and the other giants seemed to be his farm workers

He pointed into the field and gave his workers some instructions

Quickly, they began to cut down the corn with their knives

I kept moving away as the giants came closer

Finally, I came to an area where the corn had been knocked down, perhaps by a strong wind

The fallen plants blocked my way and I could not escape

I was afraid that one of the giants would cut me to pieces

I lost all hope of ever seeing my family again and lay down on the ground in despair

I thought of Lilliput and of how I had been a giant there

I felt tiny and unsafe in this place full of giants

Once again, I felt the ground shake as a giant came closer

Suddenly, his huge foot was right above me

The giant took a step backward and looked around for a few seconds

When he saw me, he picked me up gently between his forefinger and thumb and lifted me to his eye level
