" That's a pity. If Mrs. Medlock would let you go into the library, you'd have thousands of books to read."

She accidentally touched the tapestry near her and then sprang back, feeling quite startled

Mrs. Medlock was coming down it with a bunch of keys in her hands and a very angry look on her face

And she half-pushed and half-pulled Mary up one corridor and down another until they were standing in Mary's rooms
