" What's he doing here?" Perda whispered, peering into the throne room at Morb

Zann pressed a finger to his lips

He didn't know why Morb had returned to the palace. But he wanted to find out

他不清楚莫布为何回到王宫，但他很想弄清楚。

All over the throne room, people were reacting to Morb's arrival

宝座厅里的人们纷纷对莫布的出现做出反应。

" Someone call the guards!" Rixa shouted

“谁去叫卫兵来！”莉克萨喊道。

" What have you done with the king and queen?" someone else demanded

“你把国王和王后怎么了？”另一个人质问道。

Another man marched over to Morb." Your presence here is highly unacceptable!" he declared

又一个男人大步走到莫布面前，“你出现在这里，实在让人无法接受！”他宣称。

Morb just sat there, smiling calmly." Is that any way to speak to the new king of Magica?"

莫布只是坐在那里，平静地微笑道：“难道这就是对待马吉卡新国王的态度吗？”

" This has gone on long enough!" Rixa shouted

" It was a mistake for you to show your face here again

By the power of the government of Magica, I hereby pronounce you under arrest."

Rubbing her hands together, Rixa pointed at Morb." Immobilize!" she intoned

Energy shot from her fingertips. Chuckling, Morb casually held up his hand to block the spell

能量从她指尖射出。莫布咯咯笑着，漫不经心地举起手挡住了咒语。

The spell bounced off Morb's hand and struck Rixa instead

咒语从莫布的手上弹开，反而击中了里克萨。

" No!" she cried as her entire body went stiff." You can't do this!"

" Ah, but I can." Morb leaned back on the throne

Glancing around the room, he added," Would anyone else like to try to arrest me?"

他环顾房间，补充道：“还有谁想试着逮捕我吗？”

Nobody said a word. Zann spotted a few people exchanging nervous glances, while others stared fearfully at the hulking trolls

没人说话。赞看到几个人交换着紧张的眼神，其他人则恐惧地盯着那些魁梧的巨魔。

" Nobody? Are you sure?" Morb stared at a white-haired old man." How about you? Speak up, man!"

“没人？你确定？”莫布盯着一位白发老人，“你呢？说句话，老兄！”

Morb pointed his finger at the old man

莫布用手指指向老人。

Energy sizzled outward, dragging the man forward as if he'd been caught by a fishhook

能量嘶嘶涌出，拖拽着那人向前，就像被鱼钩钩住一样。

" We have to do something!" Perda whispered as Morb pinned the white-haired man against the ceiling with a Levitation spell

“我们得做点什么！”珀达低声说，莫布正用飘浮咒把那个白发男人钉在天花板上。

" Like what?" Zann said." If Morb sees us, we're doomed!"

“做什么呢？”赞说，“如果莫布看见我们，我们就完蛋了！”

Tired of toying with the old man, Morb let him fall

莫布捉弄够了老人，便松手让他摔下来。

Fortunately the man quickly rubbed his hands together and slowed down just in time to land safely on the floor

" Anyone else?" Morb asked

Slib cleared his throat and stepped forward

" I have something to say," he announced loudly. He bowed toward Morb

" I will be honored to serve the new King of Magica."

There were murmurs of dismay from all over the room

Morb raised one eyebrow." I see," he said, sounding amused." What's your name?"

" I am Slib, Your Majesty. At your service."

“我叫斯利布，陛下。听候您的差遣。”

Zann didn't hear what Morb said next

Zann had just noticed Zing pawing at a beetle on the floor nearby

赞刚刚注意到Zing正在用爪子拨弄附近地上的一只甲虫。

" Zing!" Zann whispered as loudly as he dared." Quiet!"

“Zing！”赞用他最大胆的轻声喊道。“安静！”

Zing glanced at him. The beetle took the opportunity to dart into a crack in the floor

Zing瞥了他一眼。甲虫趁机飞快地钻进了地板的裂缝里。

When Zing realized the beetle had escaped, he let out a whistle of annoyance

当Zing意识到甲虫逃走了，他恼怒地发出了一声哨音。

" Zing, hush!" Gliss whispered anxiously

“Zing，嘘！”格丽丝焦急地低声说。

Zann peeked into the throne room. Morb and the others were too far away to hear Zing's whistle. But something else had heard it

Zann gasped as he saw a bunch of the tiny, stinging dragons swarming toward them

赞看到一群会蜇人的小龙正朝他们涌来时，倒抽了一口凉气。

" Run!" Zann whispered frantically

“快跑！”赞焦急地低声说道。

旁白 neutral

The tiny dragons were fast. They caught up with the kids halfway down the hall

小龙们速度很快。它们在走廊半路就追上了孩子们。

" Get away!" Gliss cried, batting at the creatures buzzing around her hair

“走开！”格丽丝喊道，一边拍打着绕着她头发嗡嗡叫的小生物们。

Zing let out a whistle as another tiny dragon darted in and stung him

另一只小龙猛冲过来蜇了Zing一下，它发出了一声啸叫。

He blasted it with flames, but three more flew over and took its place

它喷出火焰攻击那只小龙，但又有三只飞过来取代了它。

" Should we zap away?" Perda exclaimed

Zann grimaced as one of the dragons stung him

" We can't," he said, gritting his teeth against the pain

" Not with Morb so close. He might still be tracking us."

“莫布离得这么近，不行。他可能还在追踪我们。”

" Zann's right." Darb ducked as a dragon tried to strike him

“赞说得对。”达布低头躲避一只试图攻击他的小龙。

" We've got to lose them some other way."

"我们得用别的办法甩掉它们。"

" But how?" Gliss was trying to shield her head with her arms as she ran

The kids rounded another corner. Just ahead was a small courtyard with a large fountain in the middle

孩子们又拐过一个弯。前方不远处是一个小庭院，院子正中央有个大喷泉。

" There!" Zann cried, pointing." Run under the fountain. Maybe that'll slow them down."

"那边！"赞指着喊道。"从喷泉底下跑过去。也许能拖慢它们。"

He led the way out to the courtyard, leaping into the water and racing through the spray

他带头冲到庭院里，纵身跳进水里，飞快地穿过水幕。

As soon as the stinging dragons flew under the water, they were knocked into the pool. They popped up, sputtering and drenched

那些刺龙一飞到水下，就被打进了水池里。它们又冒了出来，浑身湿透，不停地扑腾着。

Zann and the others raced into another room on the other side of the courtyard

赞和其他人冲进了庭院另一边的一个房间。

Darb glanced back." The dragons are still coming!" he cried

达布回头瞥了一眼。"那些龙又追来了！"他叫道。

" What dragons?" a new voice asked

"什么龙？"一个新的声音问道。

旁白 neutral

Zann saw someone step into the room. It was Yog!

赞看到有人走进房间。是尤格！

旁白 neutral

" What's going on?" Yog looked confused as a few tiny, wet dragons buzzed into the room." Where did those come from?"

"出什么事了？"看到几只湿漉漉的小龙嗡嗡地飞进房间，尤格一脸困惑。"这些小家伙哪儿来的？"

旁白 neutral

" Morb brought them!" Perda said breathlessly

"是莫布带来的！"珀达上气不接下气地说。

Yog rubbed his hands together. A glowing purple wall sprang up, blocking the stinging dragons

尤格搓了搓双手。一道发光的紫色墙壁凭空出现，挡住了那些刺龙。

" There," Yog said." Now, what's this about Morb? He's here in the palace?"

"好了，"尤格说。"现在说说莫布是怎么回事？他在宫殿里？"

Zann and his friends told Yog the whole story

赞和他的朋友们把整件事都告诉了尤格。

Yog healed their stings while he listened. By the end he looked grim

尤格一边听，一边为他们治疗了蜇伤。听完后，他脸色变得凝重起来。

" A magic-sucking machine, huh?" he said

"一台吸魔法的机器，啊？"他说。

旁白 neutral

" I've heard stories about that machine. I always thought they were just tall tales from the Old Times."

"我听说过关于那台机器的传闻。我一直以为那不过是旧时代的荒诞传说罢了。"

" They're not," Gliss said." At least Morb's trolls don't think so."

"不是传说，"格丽丝说。"至少莫布的巨魔们不这么认为。"

" I'd better go see what's happening in the throne room," Yog said

"我最好去看看宝座厅那边什么情况，"尤格说。

旁白 neutral

" You kids should get out of the palace before Morb realizes you're here."

"你们这些孩子得在莫布发现你们在这儿之前离开宫殿。"

旁白 neutral

" But we want to help!" Perda said

"可我们想帮忙！"珀达说。

旁白 neutral

" You can help by finding Fala and telling her what happened," replied Yog, already heading for the door

"你们可以去找到法拉，告诉她发生了什么，这就是在帮忙了，"尤格一边回答，一边已经朝门口走去。

" She'll know how to contact Venna and the others. There's no time to lose!"

"她会知道怎么联系维娜和其他人。没时间耽搁了！"

" He's right," Darb said

Zann nodded." Let's get out of here. I think the exit is this way."

赞点了点头。"我们离开这儿吧。出口应该是这边。"

He raced down the hallway and around the corner

他沿着走廊飞快跑去，拐过弯角。

" Oof!" he grunted as he smacked headlong into a running troll

"哎呦！"他一头撞上一个跑过来的巨魔，闷哼了一声。
