With one snap of his fingers, Zann healed it completely

" It's true!" he cried, dancing around." Our magic... is back!"

“是真的！”他欢呼着，手舞足蹈，“我们的魔法……回来了！”

Zing whistled and flew around in a circle, shooting blasts of flame

辛吹着口哨，绕圈飞翔，喷出一团团火焰。

Perda laughed and started dancing along with Zann

佩尔达笑了起来，和赞恩一起跳起舞。

They jumped and spun as the geyser of magic energy poured

out of the well, drifting across the land.

Suddenly Perda stopped and pointed." Look!"

突然，佩尔达停下舞步，指着说：“看！”

Zann's gaze had been focused on Perda, who looked prettier

than ever as she laughed and danced.

Now he glanced around. The drab landscape surrounding them was changing

Bright green grass sprouted rapidly, replacing the dry brownish stuff

Flowers began to bloom. Moss crept out to cover the boulders with soft green

" Careful, Zing!" Zann exclaimed as the little dragon zipped past

the tree, almost setting it alight with his fiery breath.

But the tree didn't burn

Zann wondered if that was because the air felt different now — moist

and pleasant, with none of the baking heat of moments before.

" This is amazing," Perda said." It must have something to do with that root

The magic started pouring out as soon as Mellis chopped through it."

" That makes sense," Zann agreed." Oh! Speaking of Mellis

I hope this isn't freaking her out too much."

Perda looked into the hole and gasped." Mellis! Are you okay?"

Zann hurried over. Mellis was huddled at the bottom of the hole

赞恩急忙赶过去。梅丽丝蜷缩在洞底。

At first Zann thought she was watching the magic energy

pour out from the severed root.

Then he saw that her eyes were closed

然后他看到她闭着眼睛。

" Oh no," he said." All that magic energy must have knocked her out!"

“哦，不，”他说。“一定是那股魔法能量把她震晕了！”

" We have to get her out of there." Perda held out her hand

" Grab my arm and lower me down there, and maybe we can — "

" Wait — we have magic again," Zann reminded her." Let's try to levitate her out."

“等等——我们又有魔法了，”赞恩提醒她。“我们试试把她悬浮出来。”

Perda's eyes widened." You're right!" she exclaimed with

a sheepish laugh. "I almost forgot."

They created friction and focused on lifting Mellis

他们制造摩擦，集中精力想把梅丽丝抬起来。

" Levitate," Zann murmured

“悬浮。”赞恩低声念道。

Slowly and carefully they brought Mellis up and out of the hole

他们缓慢而小心地把梅丽丝从洞里抬了上来。

Zing flew around, whistling anxiously until Mellis landed gently on the ground

小星焦急地飞来飞去，吹着口哨，直到梅丽丝被轻轻放到地上。

" Mellis!" Perda leaned over her." Can you hear me?"

“梅丽丝！”佩尔达俯身靠近她。“你能听见我说话吗？”

Mellis' hand twitched, and her eyes fluttered open

"Wh-what happened?" she asked.

" You released a bunch of magic energy," Zann said." Look around and see!"

Mellis sat up. She gasped as she took in the scene around her

" Where are we?" Her voice was shaking

Perda smiled." We're in the same place," she said

" I guess the energy made stuff grow. And Zann

and I can do magic again. Watch!"

She snapped her fingers and created a glass of water

which she handed to Mellis.

Mellis stared at it, seeming afraid to drink it

Zann was still thinking about what had happened

" That root contained magic," he said." But how?"

" Different worlds get their magic energy in different ways," Perda reminded him

“不同世界的魔法能量来源各不相同，”佩尔达提醒他。

" Like in Atmo — remember? There, magic energy is created by the air itself

But in Magica it comes out into the air through the tree

or maybe from the vortex itself through the tree.

Other worlds are all different. Some have weak energy, like Wyssa's home world — "

" Or Terrica, before now," Zann added

Perda nodded." Then there are worlds with extra strong magic, like Galvan

Remember how weird it felt to do magic there?"

Mellis looked overwhelmed." But how could things change so suddenly?"

She carefully set down the glass of water." It's like

we're not even in Terrica anymore!"

" Oh, we are," Zann assured her." But now we can do magic."

“哦，我们在的，”赞恩向她保证。“但现在我们可以施魔法了。”

" Maybe you can too," Perda said." Give it a try — let's see!"

“也许你也可以，”佩尔达说。“试试看——我们瞧瞧！”

Mellis looked nervous." Me, do magic? But I don't know how!"

梅丽丝看起来很紧张。“我，施魔法？但我不会啊！”

" It's not that hard," Zann said." Even really young kids can do basic stuff."

“没那么难，”赞恩说。“就连很小的小孩都能做基本的事情。”

He frowned as Zing zipped past

当小星嗖地飞过时，他皱了皱眉。

The little dragon was obviously happy to have his fire power back

小龙显然很高兴自己的喷火能力恢复了。

He shot out a burst of flames that knocked over the water glass

他喷出一团火焰，把水杯打翻了。

" Hey, stop that, you overgrown swamp rat," Zann scolded him

“嘿，住手，你这只超大的沼泽鼠，”赞恩斥责道。

Perda smiled encouragingly at Mellis, ignoring Zing

佩尔达没有理小星，而是鼓励地对梅丽丝微笑。

" Just create friction. Rub your hands together like this." She demonstrated

" While you do that, picture what you want to create in your mind

It can be anything — maybe another glass of water?"

Mellis looked uncertain. But she rubbed her hands together

and then squeezed her eyes shut, looking very focused.

For a moment nothing happened, and Zann wondered if Terricans

were like Voids—unable to do magic at all.

He shouted in surprise as rain abruptly began pelting down, as if

a giant waterfall had just burst into existence overhead.

He quickly snapped his fingers to create an umbrella

他连忙打了个响指，变出一把伞。

Perda did the same. Zing flew down to huddle beneath

Zann's umbrella, chirping irritably about getting wet.

Perda moved over to cover Mellis with her umbrella

佩尔达挪过去，用她的伞遮住梅丽丝。

" I think you just created rain," Perda said

“我看你刚刚造出了雨。”佩尔达说。

" I can't believe I did this." Mellis was staring, wide-eyed

at the puddles forming all around them.

" And why is the rain pink?"

“可是，这雨怎么是粉红色的？”

旁白 neutral

Zann shrugged." Pink rain isn't as common as green

or purple, but it's not that rare, either."

" Not in Magica," Perda said." Things might be different here."

“在马吉卡不常见，”佩尔达说，“这边的情况或许不同。”

" Green? Purple?" Mellis looked baffled

“绿色？紫色？”梅丽丝一脸困惑。

" Rain isn't usually a color at all! It's just clear, like regular water."

" Hmm." Perda looked thoughtful." We've seen other worlds with colorless rain."

“嗯。”佩尔达若有所思，“我们见过其他世界有无色的雨。”

Zann knew she was right, though he couldn't remember exactly which worlds

赞恩知道她说得对，只是他记不清具体是哪些世界了。

" Mellis!" he exclaimed in alarm as Mellis' eyes fluttered shut again

and she keeled over with a splash.
