" It's bad enough that there are dangers along the journey," he said

" But my own companions are causing trouble for me."

" Calm down, Master," said Wukong

" Master, this is all Wukong's fault," said Bajay

" He stole the ginseng fruit and he knocked down the tree."

" Stealing the fruit was your idea," shouted the monkey

“偷果子是你的主意，”猴子喊道。

" I can't help it if I was hungry," said Bajay

“我饿了也没办法啊，”八戒说。

" You should have refused to steal it."

“你应该拒绝偷的。”

" Let's stop arguing and figure out how to escape," said Wujing

“别吵了，想想怎么逃出去吧，”沙僧说。

" I have a plan," said Wukong

“我有个计划，”悟空说。

" But we must wait until the great immortal is asleep."

“但我们得等到大仙睡着了再说。”

Late that night, Wukong recited a spell

那天深夜，悟空念了一个咒语。

He shrank to the size of a pea and then slipped out from his ropes

他缩小到豌豆那么大，然后从绳子里溜了出来。

He quickly untied his friends

" Let's go," he whispered

The group tiptoed through the dark and silent abbey

Suddenly, a voice boomed

The great immortal flew toward them

Wukong pulled out his iron bar and swung

悟空拔出金箍棒挥了过去。

The great immortal moved out of the way

大仙闪到了一边。

Bajay struck with his rake, and Wujing stabbed with his spear

八戒用钉耙打去，沙僧用长矛刺去。

But the great immortal was fast

但大仙速度很快。

He waved his arm, and his sleeve shucked toward the group

他挥了挥手臂，衣袖朝众人扫了过去。

Once again, the travelers were swept up

旅人们又一次被卷走了。

Back at the abbey, the great immortal told his priests to start a fire

回到寺院，大仙叫他的道童生起火来。

" Bring out a large frying pan," said the great immortal

“拿一口大油锅来，”大仙说。

" We're going to fry these criminals."

“我们要把这些罪犯炸了。”

" Let's start with Son Wukong."

“先从孙悟空开始。”

The priest carried an enormous frying pan into the room

道童们抬着一口巨大的油锅进了房间。

They placed it over the fire

他们把油锅架在火上。

" Uh-oh," thought Wukong

“糟糕，”悟空心想。

" I can sit on that frying pan all day and not get hurt at all."

“我坐在那口油锅上坐一整天也不会受伤。”

" But the Tang monk is mortal."

“但唐僧是凡人。”

旁白 neutral

" He'll be burned to a crisp."

“他会被炸得焦脆。”

He spotted a statue of a lion nearby

他发现附近有一座石狮子。

The monkey recited a quick spell and made the statue look exactly like himself

猴子念了一个咒语，把石狮子变成了自己的模样。

Then he disappeared

然后他消失了。

" Throw Son Wukong into the frying pan," said the great immortal

“把孙悟空扔进油锅里，”大仙说。

Thinking the statue was Wukong, the two priests tried to lift it

两个道童以为那尊雕像就是悟空，便试图抬起来。

" This monkey is much heavier than he looks," said one priest, breathing heavily

“这猴子比看上去重多了，”一个道童气喘吁吁地说。

" Yes," said the other priest, panting

They finally dragged the statue to the frying pan and dropped it in

The frying pan broke in half

油锅裂成了两半。

" The monkey tricked us," shouted the great immortal

“那猴子耍了我们，”大仙喊道。

" He made that statue look like himself."

“他把那尊雕像变成了自己的样子。”

旁白 neutral

" That rotten monkey," cried Bha-Jay," he escaped without us."

“那臭猴子，”八戒叫道，“他自己逃了，不管我们了。”

" Do you really think he left us?" asked the Tang monk

“你真的认为他丢下我们了吗？”唐僧问道。

旁白 neutral

" Look around!" said Bha-Jay

“你看看四周！”八戒说。

旁白 neutral

" He's gone."

“他不见了。”

旁白 neutral

" He probably returned to the fruit and flower mountain."

“他大概回花果山了。”

旁白 neutral

" I'm sure he's playing in a field of flowers right now."

“我敢肯定他现在正在花丛里玩呢。”

" Meanwhile, we're trapped here."

“而我们却被困在这里。”

" I don't think he would leave us," said Wu-Jing

“我不觉得他会丢下我们的，”沙僧说。

The Tang monk started to cry

The great immortal shook with anger

" It's bad enough that Son Wukong wanted to escape, but did he really have to break my frying pan, too?"

“孙悟空想逃也就罢了，可他非得把我的油锅也砸了吗？”

He stamped his foot

他跺了跺脚。

" Bring out another frying pan."

“再拿一口油锅来。”

旁白 neutral

" We'll fry his companions, starting with the Tang monk."

“我们先炸他的同伴，从唐僧开始。”
