Erlang quickly tied up Wukong and brought him up to Heaven

我要将孙悟空处死，玉皇大帝说道。

Soldiers tied Wukong to a pillar in a courtyard

士兵们将悟空绑在了庭院中的一根柱子上。

They struck him with swords

他们用刀剑砍向他。

But his body was as hard as a diamond

但他的身体坚硬如金刚。

The swords shattered

刀剑全都碎裂了。

Wukong laughed

悟空大笑起来。

Your swords can't hurt me

你们的刀剑伤不了我。

The Jade Emperor turned to a messenger

玉皇大帝转向一名传令官。

Bring in the fire gods

把火神们叫来。

Several fire gods entered the courtyard and threw balls of flame at Wukong

几位火神走进庭院，向悟空投掷火球。

The courtyard filled with smoke

庭院里浓烟弥漫。

But when the smoke cleared, not one hair on Wukong's body was burned

但当烟雾散去，悟空身上连一根毫毛都没有被烧到。

Thank you, Wukong laughed

谢谢啊，悟空笑道。

I was feeling a little cold

我正觉得有点冷呢。

Gather the Thunder Gods, said the Jade Emperor

召集雷神们，玉皇大帝说道。

Several Thunder Gods entered the courtyard

几位雷神走进了庭院。

The Jade Emperor smiled as lightning bolts shot toward Wukong

闪电劈向悟空时，玉皇大帝露出了微笑。

But even the lightning couldn't harm the monkey

但就连闪电也伤不了这只猴子。

That tickled, said Wukong with a smile

挠痒痒呢，悟空笑着说。

The Jade Emperor shook his head

玉皇大帝摇了摇头。

It seems that Wukong can't be destroyed

看来悟空是无法被消灭的。

That's because he ate all the peaches, said Laozi

那是因为他吃了所有的蟠桃，太上老君说道。

Just one peach would make someone live forever

光是一颗蟠桃就能让人长生不老。

He ate every peach in the garden

他把园子里的蟠桃全吃光了。

The Emperor frowned

玉帝皱起了眉头。

Then how will we get rid of him?

那我们要怎么除掉他？

I have an idea, said Laozi

我有个办法，太上老君说道。

I'll put him in the large pot I use for making potions

我把他放进我炼丹用的大炉里。

旁白 neutral

Maybe we can burn him up slowly

也许我们能慢慢把他烧化。

Perfect, said the Jade Emperor

好极了，玉皇大帝说道。

Soldiers brought Wukong to a room in Laozi's palace

士兵们将悟空押到太上老君宫殿中的一间房里。

A large pot sat in the middle of the room

房间正中央放着一口大炉。

旁白 neutral

Laozi put Wukong into the pot and then closed the lid

太上老君将悟空放进炉中，然后盖上了盖子。

Laozi started a fire under the pot

太上老君在炉下点起了火。

旁白 neutral

Day and night he tended the fire

他日夜不停地看守着火。

He kept it burning for 49 days

他整整烧了四十九天。

Wukong must have been destroyed by now, thought Laozi

悟空现在肯定已经化为灰烬了，太上老君心想。

He slowly took the lid off the pot

他慢慢地揭开了炉盖。

旁白 neutral

Smoke poured from the opening, and Wukong leaped out

浓烟从炉口涌出，悟空一跃而出。

The pot fell over

炉子被掀翻了。

Burning pieces of coal flew everywhere

燃烧的炭块四处飞溅。

Wukong's eyes were red, and he was coughing

悟空双眼通红，不停地咳嗽。

That smoke was horrible, he cried

那烟太呛了！他喊道。

He pushed Laozi, knocking the sage onto his back

他一把推开太上老君，把这位仙人推了个四脚朝天。

Wukong pulled out his iron bar and smashed everything in the room

悟空掏出金箍棒，把房间里的一切砸了个稀烂。

Somebody stop him, cried Laozi

快来人拦住他！太上老君喊道。

Wukong ran out of Laozi's palace

悟空冲出了太上老君的宫殿。

Gods and spirits fled as Wukong smashed everything in his path

神仙们四散奔逃，悟空沿途将一切砸得粉碎。

Laozi ran into the Cloud Palace

太上老君跑进了凌霄宝殿。

Your Majesty, Wukong is causing trouble all over heaven, he said

陛下，悟空正在天庭到处大闹！他说道。

What? cried the Emperor

什么？玉帝惊呼道。

旁白 neutral

He's alive?

他还活着？

旁白 neutral

Yes, said Laozi

是的，太上老君说。

旁白 neutral

I took the lid off the pot because I thought he was burned up

我以为他已经被烧化了，就揭开了炉盖。

But the fire didn't hurt him at all

但火根本伤不了他。

旁白 neutral

This is an outrage, said the Jade Emperor

岂有此理！玉皇大帝说道。

What are we going to do with that monkey?

我们拿那只猴子怎么办？

The Emperor thought for a moment

玉帝沉思了片刻。

We must ask Buddha for help, he said

我们必须请佛祖来帮忙，他说道。

He turned to a messenger

Before him was a huge figure, glowing with golden light

I am Buddha, said the figure

Who are you and why are you causing all this trouble?

I am Sun Wukong, king of the Fruit and Flower Mountain

我是孙悟空，花果山之王。

I should be the king of heaven, too

我也应该做天上的王。

I'm going to the Cloud Palace to tell the Jade Emperor to leave

我要去凌霄宝殿，让玉皇大帝让位。
